A Muslim Wedding and an Explosion of Colour and Style…

“A Contemporary Muslim Wedding and an Explosion of Colour and Style…”

INFUSED WITH TRADITIONAL CULTURE!

Taj Palace Manchester Banqueting & Events Venue, Delves into the insight of a beautiful, well organised, Asian Wedding…

Here we meet our beautiful bride, Saira, as we explore the traditional Pakistani Asian Wedding traditions, and all that comes with it including seriously stunning colours, flatteringly beautiful wedding dresses and heaps of absolutely flawless jewels, stunning make-up and a festive ambiance!

THE BRIDE…

Saira’s beautiful dress was sourced from the Karachi region of Pakistan. In addition to the traditional red and golden threads popular in Asian Muslim wedding dresses, Saira also chose to incorporate royal blue and turquoise hues into her outfit.

The paler blue then influenced her choice of jewellery and accessories.

It is perhaps the mixture of traditions and cultures that made Rizwan and Saira’s wedding so mesmerising.

“Help choosing decor for the wedding was not an easy task. I came across SIMPLYSPLENDIDeventsCO and was impressed with the innovative ideas shown on the site. We organised a meeting with the creative consultant and from the first meeting I knew this was the event company we wanted.”

During the Walima or marriage banquet, orbs of dark red roses, carnations and gerberas sat on top of golden candelabras, which also doubled as ingenious buffet displays. Platters of traditional Asian dishes lined the stems of each candelabrum, allowing for a communal feast of mouth-watering cuisine…

“I had an idea of what I wanted but through talking to SIMPLYSPLENDIDeventsCO, they were able to bring my ideas into reality and beyond. We had fresh flower arrangements on every table. We went for a classic look, as my wedding dress was very bright so we wanted something subtle.”

WHEN HIRING A WEDDING VENUE / SERVICE PROVIDER… FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF A VENUE…

Most people plan a big wedding one time in their life… that’s not to say people get married only once, but most of the time if they decide to get married a second time they don’t go all out on their nuptials, take two.  So considering that nearly all of the brides I meet with, only intend on getting married once, they have a tendency to treat wedding vendors like they owe them something.  They expect discounts, coupons and bargains because they are planning one of the most important days of their lives and everyone should be catering to them….  Please keep in mind most wedding vendors have training, certifications and/or college degrees (or they should if you’re hiring them) so they should be compensated accordingly.

Creating a wedding is expensive, I get that, but there are ways to fit your dream wedding inside your budget, WITHOUT demanding discounts and freebies from wedding vendors.  As I have conversations with other vendors in the industry, it is a common theme that comes up in discussions.  For some reason when people are planning weddings they seem to think, that bartering and bargaining rules apply… that apply no where else in our country.  Let’s take Lawyers for example… they have schooling and training and you can find different lawyers at different prices, but you don’t march into their office and demand a discount or bargain with them on price?  You then have to decide if their services are within your budget for the services that you need and then make the decision.  What about grocery stores… you don’t walk in to the grocery store and see that apples are £1.99 per pound, and then offer the produce guy £1 per pound.  He would probably just look at you with a blank stare and then go back to stacking tomatoes in pretty pyramids.  So you make the decision whether or not the apples are worth the price at £1.99 per pound?  Sometimes you luck out and get coupons or things on special, and the same thing happens with wedding vendors from time to time, but it should not be expected or demanded.

The same goes for wedding vendors… when they give you a price you have to decide,  1) What am I expecting them to do, 2) How many hours am I expecting them to spend on this and realistically is the price fair for the services they’re rendering.  3) Do they fit into my overall budget, and if I do really need them and they don’t fit what else can I adjust to make them fit?  Please don’t just jump to the discount question.

Something else to consider…. If you’re hiring a wedding professional try to take that initial number and think of it as an hourly rate… it may help you understand why the price is what it is

The bottom line… At Taj Palace Manchester We value our work, commitment & effort and pour all our dedication into each and every event we host, creating truly priceless memories and events that you will value forever!
